On March 19th, 2023 CYEN collaborated with the Faculty of Science & Technology (FST) Student Committee to execute a beach cleanup at Long Beach, Christ Church. The cleanup was to commemorate the start of their FST Student Committee Week. In preparation for the cleanup, CYEN members did a training session on 17th March for persons who would have served as data collectors on the day of the cleanup.
On the day of the cleanup, there were 46 volunteers present who collected a total of 225.33lbs of marine debris including fishing nets and microplastics and cleared a distance of 0.60km.
