He previously served as Climate Change Special Envoy for the Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN), Foreign Service Officer with the Government of Saint Lucia as well as serving on the National Climate Change Committee Naomi Cambridge is a university student at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, pursuing a BSc. in International Relations. Mangrove Restoration

  Emmanuel Lopez from the CYEN chapter in Belize along with students from ANRI High School traveled to Twin Caye (North-west of Dangriga), to conduct mangrove restoration. They were able to plant approximately 100 mangrove propagules. The restoration effort was conducted to combat erosion along with assisting in the protection of the island from future natural disasters.

CLIMATE JUSTICE AND INDIGENOUS LIVELIHOODS IN BELIZE

The Caribbean Youth Environment Network in partnership with the Department of Youth Services is hosting a project on Climate Justice and Indigenous Livelihoods designed to build awareness, enhance capacity and provide financial support to youth led climate justice projects in Belize. The Project is being done in two phases: Apply for Phase 1: Training of Trainers This training is an intensive training aimed at building the capacity of a core group of young adults on climate change policy and participation. It is going to be coupled with skills building related to social auditing that is rooted in understanding climate justice and indigenous livelihoods. It is aimed at persons between ages 18-35. This group will then be the trainers that will engage young people in phase 2 with honorarium provided.
