The theme of this year’s International Day for Biological Diversity is “From Agreement to Action: Build Back Biodiversity”. Thus, CYEN, Guyana Chapter celebrated by releasing facts about lesser known/observed species in Guyana.

To commemorate International Day of Forests, CYEN, Guyana Chapter addressed the need for healthy forests in Guyana, by having members such as Suphane Dash-Alleyne,  Yasmin Fazil, Hilary Somerset, Nikita Bagot and Cassie Carryl speak on its importance.

CYEN, Guyana Chapter, in partnership with the Neighbourhood Democratic Council, Mahaicony Revitalisation Committee and the REGION 5 Tourism Committee, hosted its quarterly cleanup at Novar Beach, Mahaicony, Guyana.

To commemorate World Water Day 2023, CYEN, Guyana Chapter released a statement stressing the importance of the need for safe and healthy water, as well as acknowledging the domino factors that water contributes to, which can aid in addressing global issues such as human well-being, reducing the curve to zero poverty, gender equality, job equality, improved education, equality to scarce resources, and peace worldwide.

To commemorate World Wildlife Day,CYEN, Guyana Chapter uploaded a post on its social media, to bring awareness to the wild species of flora and fauna present in the environment.

CYEN, Guyana Chapter held its annual retreat for the year at the Splashmins Resort, Madewini, Guyana. A number of enthusiastic members were present, and successfully produced a plan of activities to execute during the period stated.

The Caribbean Youth Environment Network, Guyana Chapter took part in a scavenger hunt coordinated by EMC Foundation. Members Suphane Dash-Alleyne, Chandane Persaud, Hilary Somerset, and Shikiyah Luke placed first in the Flower Crown Segment, and third overall.
